My Winter Skin Care Routine | NuttaMae

Hi everyone, so it is Winter and absolutely freezing - especially in England. The rain is absolutely chucking down and the wind is about to blow me away. Every morning is hectic walking through the rain and wind with a thick coat and stepping into puddles. It definitely pisses me off and sets my whole day in a bad mood.
Anyway, I like to clean my face every morning and night to rid my face of as many blemishes and helps my dry skin.

Firstly, I apply the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser twice. I do this twice because the first washes away my makeup or any moisturiser I put on my face the night before, then the second cleans the dirt and gets into the pores.

Secondly, I use two cotton pads and use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic. This toner brightens and soothes your skin and helps it not feel tight or dry.

Next, I apply the Dermalogica Clean Start Hit The Spot Moisturiser on my spots. This is very effective and works quickly on spots and/or blemishes.

Finally, I finish with my Aloe Soothing Night Cream at night. This moisturises my face and makes my skin feel refreshed and squeaky clean.

2014 New Years Resolutions | NuttaMae

It’s finally 2014. Crazy, right? 2013 went by so fast I still remember the first of January last year like it was yesterday. This year I have set myself the same resolutions as the last three years. But ‘hand on heart’ I will not fail. So mine are so cliché, but I am so serious about following them. And here they are:

1.       Lost weight. I am curvy and I’m not going to lie, but I just don’t feel confident and always wear baggy clothes and cover up my muffin top and wear maxi skirts to hide my big thighs. I am only 5ft 4.5inches, so I look bigger with my weight, if I was taller I think I wouldn’t look so heavy. I want to lose weight also because I have a special occasion coming up in July I think, but I want to feel comfortable in what I’m wearing and not trying to cover myself up.

2.       Clear up my skin. I have dry, DRY skin and sometimes get eczema on my forehead since I have eczema on my scalp. I always get spots, I currently have three and they are very visible. I have so many blackheads on and around my nose, it looks disgusting. I’m hoping to clean my face by the end of 2014, that is if I don’t forget to buy my cleanser, AGAIN.

3.       Be more confident. I’ve always had a problem with this. I am so shy and can never make the first move meeting people. But once you get to know me, I am the loudest thing on Earth. I am crazy and a bit clumsy but no one ever sees that side of me who is not my friend, they all think I’m this quite loner in the corner of the room. But when I’m with my friends everyone is just weirded out about how loud I am. I hope that I could try being more confident and out there when meeting new people.

4.       Try to step out of my comfort zone with clothing. I don’t really have a style type, If I like something and I think it suits me I’ll buy it. I’m not a girly girl who loves pink and glitter and crap like that. I just like my own style, if I like something with flowers, I’ll get it, if I like something with studs, I‘ll get it. It depends really. But I want to broaden my range and because I want to lose weight, hopefully I could buy more flattering clothing.

New Years Eve Last Minute Makeup Tutorial | NuttaMae

This is a tutorial for a last minute NYE look. There is two variations for a nude lipand a bright lip like below.

First off, you need to start off with your usual foundation and concealer:

Next, you will prime the eyes, I used Urban Decay Eye Primer in Original:

 

Then, you want to take your Naked Basics Palette and cover your lid with W.O.S (Walk of Shame):

After that, take your Naked 3 Palette and use Strange over the lid:

And then use Nooner on the outer half of your lid ( Sorry it's blurred):

Next, use Braveheart in the crease and blend:

After, use a liquid line and draw a thick wing across the lid :



Next, add 3 plain gems to the outer  of your eyeliner:

 

Next you can apply your mascara :

Now, on to cheeks, use bronzer to contour your face :

Then a blusher on the apples of your cheeks :

 

Then, for a neutral lip, line your lips with a brown lip liner then apply nude lip gloss on top:

 

To then complete the New Years Eve Look:

 

 

If you want to go for a more dramatic look and make you lips stand out, then use a bright red lip liner:

Then your look is completed:
